Taking the Roads Less Traveled: An Urban Adventure

Today I thought I would have a mini adventure on a different walking route than normal by taking the roads I have either never taken or take very infrequently. This enabled me to do a mindfulness practice where I went out with just my phone camera, an open mind, and a readiness to walk and explore.

An alleyway behind some houses — it looks like a completely different city! I liked the old, rusty car as well and the teal can on the ground that provides some nice contrast
An old rundown linen business with some colorful graffiti in the background. In my opinion, this is an old vs new composition
Graffiti isn’t always an eyesore — this is quite an elaborate piece of art!
Now that’s some colorful art on the side of a building!
Be Kind — some words to live by. I love the design of this house too.
What a beautiful Victorian house.
Lion statue with the sun beginning to set in the background.
Finally, the red TV/Broadcast tower that is like a landmark telling me I’m home

All photos were taken with a Pixel 5. This was such a fun and new experience since I tend to take the same route on my daily walk. I’m definitely doing it again! This experience really gave me a sense of adventure in an urban area and reminded me that adventure can be found in your every day life if you look for it.
